Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Q. Doesn't rain make my windows dirty? A. Rain does not make your windows dirty, dirt does. Rain water, which is pure with no suspended minerals or metals, does not "spot" clean windows. Water spotting on windows is usually the result of pure rain water coming into contact with dust and dirt already laying on screens and windows. This dirt comes from landscapers, tree pollen, and many other sources. Rain drops shape the dirt and dust into various patterns you see on your windows. After the rain water evaporates, these dirty spot patterns remain on the glass. This muddy residue is now very visible. for more info check the link to our BLOG: http://nantucketcleaning.com/2/post/2012/08/rain-doesnt-make-your-windows-dirty.html Q. Do I need to be home when my home is serviced? A. We prefer that first time customers be home or at least provide us with special needs and requests if any. After you have become an established customer, we can service your account with or without you being present. Just let us know how you would like us to access your property and how to lock up once our service is completed. We arrive at your job completely self sufficient. Q. My last cleaners left a dirty mess on my carpet. How do you protect carpet? A. We wear protective booties over our shoes so we don't track dirt in from the outside. We place our water bucket on non-carpeted floor whenever possible. We keep a protective towel under the water bucket at all times. We treat your home as if it was our own. Q. My windows are treated with 3M window film ,How do you handle these? A. Be careful!Tinted windows should never be scraped with razor blade. Also ammonia-based cleaners like Windex should never be used.Don't worry we had seen allot of tinted windows in our experience and we have the proper solutions and methods to safety and effectively clean this glass.
Q.Can moss buildup cause my roof to leak? A.Heavy moss can cause water to back up the roof enough to run over the top of the shingles. The buildup should be removed. Moss retains soil and moisture that could harm the wood over time.
Q.My cedar shake roof is surrounded by tall fir trees and the needles accumulate in the spaces between the shakes. Should I have these cleaned out periodically? A.Yes, it is a good idea to have a professional clean the debris off your roof. Cedar needs to breathe, and therefore any accumulation of needles, branches, leaves and dirt will affect its lifespan.
Q.Why should I get my gutters cleaned? A.Your gutters are designed to drain the water from you roof way from your house and foundation. Full gutters and clogged downspouts can lead to roof and gutter damage or leaky basements.
Q.How often should I get my gutters cleaned? A.Most homeowners should get their gutters cleaned twice a year. Once obviously after the leaves fall and once again in the spring after bud and seeds have fallen. It takes a relatively small amount of debris to cover or clog a downspout.
Q.Do I need to provide any equipment or cleaning products? A.No. We have all necessary equipment and supplies for the job.
Q.When is payment due? A. Payment is due upon completion of the job and your approval of the quality of the work. Our minimum charge per job is $50
